Holoclock privacy policy
Holoclock collects no personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it doesn't send anything to a server of ours. Everything below happens on your iPhone, except the weather, which comes from Apple.
Last updated 5 October 2026. Applies to Holoclock for iPhone Duo, made by Bartosz Szczepanik (Arch Engineering).
The camera
Holoclock uses the camera of the display you are using (the inner camera for the hologram on iPhone Duo, the front camera otherwise) to find where your eyes are, so the clock stays solid as you move your head. Where the camera has TrueDepth, its depth reading tells how far away your eyes are. Each frame is analysed on the iPhone, in memory, the moment it arrives, and then thrown away. No picture, video or depth reading is saved, and none leaves the device. The only thing Holoclock keeps is your distance between the pupils, as one number on the iPhone, so the distance is right on cameras without depth.
The camera runs only while the clock is showing and Follow My Eyes is on in Settings. You can turn that off, or deny camera access in iOS Settings, and Holoclock uses a fixed viewing position instead.
Weather and your location
If you use the nightstand (part of Holoclock Pro) with Weather on in Settings → On the Glass, Holoclock asks for your approximate location and sends it to Apple's WeatherKit service to get the forecast. The request goes from your iPhone to Apple; we never receive your location. Apple's handling of it is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Calendar and reminders
If Next Event or Reminders is on in Settings → On the Glass, Holoclock reads your calendars or reminders on the iPhone to show them under the clock. They are never copied off the device.
Photos
For the Photo background you pick one picture in the system photo picker; Holoclock doesn't get access to the rest of your library. A smaller copy of that picture is kept in Holoclock's own storage on your iPhone.
Alarm and Shortcuts
The wake alarm is scheduled with iOS on your iPhone. Messages you send to the clock with the "Show on Holoclock" shortcut stay on the device.
Purchases
Holoclock Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; we only learn from iOS that the purchase is active, and never see your name, Apple Account or payment details.
Your data and deleting it
Your settings, the saved photo and pending alerts are stored only in Holoclock's storage on your iPhone, and included in your iPhone backups like any app's data. Deleting the app deletes them.
Holoclock collects nothing from anyone, children included, so there is nothing for us to share, sell or hand over.
Changes
If a future version works differently, this page will say so before that version is released, with a new date at the top.
