Holoclock
A hologram clock for iPhone Duo. Open the phone like a small laptop and a glowing clock stands in the fold between the two halves. The inner camera follows your eyes, so the clock stays solid as you move your head.
Made for iPhone Duo; works on any iPhone with iOS 26 or later. The hologram needs the fold, so on other iPhones your clock stands behind the glass in its room, as through a window, and the front camera moves the view with your head.
Getting started
- Put your iPhone Duo on a table and open it to about 90°, like a laptop. You can also stand it up like a book.
- Sit 50 to 80 cm away and look at the corner. The clock appears standing in the fold.
- Tap the clock for the controls: Face, Background and Settings. They hide again after a few seconds.
- Lay the phone flat and Settings fills the display, next to a preview of your clock.
Questions
The clock looks bent where the screen folds.
Open Settings → Calibrate Fold. A glowing bar floats across the crease; move the slider until it looks straight, then tap Done.
The clock swims or slides when I move.
Holoclock needs to see your eyes. Check that Follow My Eyes is on in Settings and that Holoclock may use the camera (iOS Settings → Apps → Holoclock → Camera). A lit room helps. The effect works for one person at a time.
It looks flat.
The illusion is drawn for one viewpoint, and both eyes see the same picture, so it reads best from 50 to 80 cm, looking straight at the corner. Settings → Display → Depth Wiggle adds a slight sway that gives the brain more depth.
The clock disappeared.
It only shows within a range of angles, about 90° by default. Outside it, a guide tells you which way to fold. You can widen the range in Settings → Display.
What about the battery?
By default the screen stays on only while the iPhone is charging. When nobody has looked at the clock for 20 seconds, it rests at one frame a second and the camera slows down; a face or a tap wakes it.
How does the wake alarm work?
Turn on Nightstand and Wake Alarm in Settings (Holoclock Pro). iOS rings the alarm even when Holoclock isn't open; allow alarms when you're asked.
How do I show alerts on the clock?
iOS doesn't let apps read other apps' notifications. Instead, add the Show on Holoclock action to a Shortcuts automation, for example when a door unlocks or a Focus starts.
Can I put the clock on my Home Screen or Lock Screen?
Yes. Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget and choose Holoclock; it also works in StandBy and on the Lock Screen. A widget shows the app's clock, or the one you pick when you edit it. Widgets are drawn flat, without the 3D effect.
I bought Pro on another device, or it went missing.
Open Settings → Holoclock Pro → Restore Purchases. Pro is shared with your family through Family Sharing. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
